Sound video feedback and learner response

 1. Sir's feedback = WWW: parallel images/sound, contrapuntal warfare images, well paced, large range                                    of images, transition (fade in) 

                                EBI: Highlight keywords on blog, smoother ending, some repetition, attention to                                          detail (screenshot images), pix-elated images/low res export. 

2. Class feedback = WWW: Clear images, great sound quality, great transitions, matched the beat, good                                       use of parallel and contrapuntal sound.

                                 EBI: Highlight key words, get rid of the screenshot sign in the bottom of the image,                                     fade out in the end.

3. Self assessment = WWW: Clear images, great use of sound, good use of parallel and contrapuntal                                            images.

                                  EBI: Fade out in the end, save pictures instead of using a screenshot, use black and                                      white effect to give it a better contrapuntal effect.

4. I think that Sopiga's was the best as she uses a black and white filter which gave it a good effect as well as having a good transition and did everything that was asked of her. She also faded it out in the end instead of ending it abruptly. 

5. I have learned that everyone interprets sound in their own way and that sound can change the way we see things no matter what images are shown.

 The birds (1963):    In the beginning there was match on action as you see the car from one angle and then you see it again but from a different angle. The singing of the children is diegetic sound as it's actually happening in the film sequence. There's a tracking shot and a POV shot.   The cut between the shots of the woman and the birds creates suspense as every time the camera switches back to the birds, the number of  birds increase and by the end of the video sequence there is a massive increase in the amount of birds seen. This is unexpected. There's a sound bridge  of the children singing in the background as you can't see them singing but it is still going on. Every time the camera switches to the woman it gets closer and so this is an extreme close up . This is dramatic irony as we know that there are birds behind her that increase over time however she is oblivious to the birds behind her until she notices one in the air flying around. preliminary exercise

1) Choose at least three TV dramas similar to your concept and watch at least one scene from each. Make bullet-point notes on everything you watch, commenting on camerawork, editing, sound and mise-en-scene. 1)   Top boy - clip stef and ZT get back on mails:   the mise en scene of the nice cars (from the money they made through drugs). T he empty petrol station suggesting that it is late at night so no pedestrians will see to help them. The costuming of the tracksuits and the bally (face masks) being used as it is an typical UK road man/gangster costuming which builds the British culture feeling. The props of guns being used and pulled out builds up tension as the audience as on edge waiting to see if someone will get injured. The mid shots during the fit to show multiple people fighting then the close up when they are speaking to show the facial expression clearly build up more intensity furthermore the tense non dietetic sound builds up more intensity. Intense fighting to begin with.
