     Year of release: 1976

     Background info: It is based on Manzoor's 2007 memoir Greetings from Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock N' Roll. Set in the town of Luton in 1987 Britain, the film tells the coming-of-age story of Javed, a British-Pakistani Muslim teenager whose life is changed after he discovers the music of Springsteen.

2. In England in 1987, a teenager from an Asian family learns to live his life, understand his family and find his own voice through the music of American rock star Bruce Springsteen. In 1987 Britain, Javed Khan is a British-Pakistani college arts student in Luton in a family with a domineering father.

3. Blinded by the Light (also known as Music of My Life) is a 2019 British comedy-drama film directed by Gurinder Chadha. It was inspired by the life of journalist Sarfraz Manzoor and his love of the works of Bruce Springsteen. Manzoor co-wrote the script with Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges.

4. Dialogue: Mixture of english and their home language to show Gurinder's background as growing up in a brown family. 

Music: Also a mixture to show their culture as well as Gurinder's. 

Costume: I believe the film came out in 2019 but was set in 1976 and so costume is an important element of this film. 

5. Javed stands out for me as growing up in a brown family the film is a bit relatable and so i like how he made sure his voice was heard and did what it took for that to happen. 

6. I think that this is about racism and that it still happens today but definitely not as bad as it did in that film. Being brown and different, you have to try and fit in and by doing so you have to sometimes work twice as harder. 

7. I think that this film can still be enjoyed as it's got some humour in it as well as some music due to it being a musical. If you can relate i feel like you'd enjoy it more, like me. It's also a bit sad especially when you see them get abused but the moral of the story is good and in my opinion that was a good movie. It surprised me to be honest because i didn't think it would be like that.

 The birds (1963):    In the beginning there was match on action as you see the car from one angle and then you see it again but from a different angle. The singing of the children is diegetic sound as it's actually happening in the film sequence. There's a tracking shot and a POV shot.   The cut between the shots of the woman and the birds creates suspense as every time the camera switches back to the birds, the number of  birds increase and by the end of the video sequence there is a massive increase in the amount of birds seen. This is unexpected. There's a sound bridge  of the children singing in the background as you can't see them singing but it is still going on. Every time the camera switches to the woman it gets closer and so this is an extreme close up . This is dramatic irony as we know that there are birds behind her that increase over time however she is oblivious to the birds behind her until she notices one in the air flying around. 1) Choose at least three TV dramas similar to your concept and watch at least one scene from each. Make bullet-point notes on everything you watch, commenting on camerawork, editing, sound and mise-en-scene. 1)   Top boy - clip stef and ZT get back on mails:   the mise en scene of the nice cars (from the money they made through drugs). T he empty petrol station suggesting that it is late at night so no pedestrians will see to help them. The costuming of the tracksuits and the bally (face masks) being used as it is an typical UK road man/gangster costuming which builds the British culture feeling. The props of guns being used and pulled out builds up tension as the audience as on edge waiting to see if someone will get injured. The mid shots during the fit to show multiple people fighting then the close up when they are speaking to show the facial expression clearly build up more intensity furthermore the tense non dietetic sound builds up more intensity.
